So, your train’s been cancelled? That’s a pain — but don’t worry, you’ve got options. Whether you’re still keen to travel or you've changed your plans completely, we’ve got your back.
🚆 1. Hop on another train
Here’s what to do:
- You can board any of the two services before or after your originally scheduled train with the same train operator.
- Check the latest timetable on the train operator’s website or National Rail to plan your new journey.
- Bring your original ticket and show it to station staff or the train crew.
💡 Heads up: Seat reservations won’t carry over. You’ll need to find an unreserved seat. If in doubt, rail staff will be happy to help.
🔄 2. Change your plans
Can’t make any of the alternative services work for you? No problem.
We recommend contacting the train operator directly. Let them know your original service was cancelled — they’ll let you know if you can travel on another route or what to do next.
💸 3. Request a refund
If your journey's no longer happening due to the service cancellation, you’re entitled to a full refund on any unused tickets.
👉 Fill out our refund request form here and we’ll take care of the rest.
🕒 4. Delayed on your replacement train?
If you do travel but arrive late, you might be eligible for Delay Repay compensation.
This needs to be claimed directly with the train operator. Head to their website to find out how to apply — it’s usually quick and straightforward.
