Yes — children can travel in First Class using Seatfrog upgrades, but the rules depend on their age.
Seatfrog has one upgrade price per seat, regardless of age.
Children under 5
Children under the age of 5 can travel without purchasing an upgrade.
However:
They will not receive a reserved seat.
If the train is busy, they must sit on the accompanying adult’s lap.
If you would like your child under 5 to have their own reserved seat, you must purchase or bid for an upgrade for them.
Children aged 5 and over
Children aged 5 and above:
Must have a valid train ticket.
Must have their own Seatfrog upgrade.
Are charged the standard upgrade price.
Seating together
Seatfrog upgrades are not automatically allocated together.
Members of the same booking may be assigned different seats due to limited availability.
If alternative, unreserved seats become available when you travel you may move to sit together.
Please inform the train manager if you move so that your original reserved seats can be released.
Travellers under 18
Passengers under 18 cannot place a bid themselves.
An adult may place a bid or purchase an upgrade on their behalf.
