Can I buy, share, or gift a Seatfrog upgrade to someone else?
Yes — you can buy a Seatfrog upgrade for someone else, share it with them, or gift it as a surprise.
You can send the upgrade details (for example, a screenshot or confirmation) to the person travelling using your device’s sharing options or the share feature in the Seatfrog app. Both methods are valid.
Important:
Seatfrog upgrades are non-transferable, but this only means they cannot be moved to a different train, route, date, or departure time.
It does not mean the upgrade cannot be used by another person travelling on that booked service.
How to share your upgrade
You can share your upgrade directly from the Seatfrog app:
- Go to the Trips icon (suitcase)
- Select your booking
- Tap View upgrade
- Tap the share icon (top left of the screen)
- Choose how you’d like to share it (e.g. message, email, etc.)
What you can do
- Buy an upgrade for someone else
- Share the upgrade with the traveller
- Use it as a gift or surprise
What you cannot do
- Transfer the upgrade to a different train or service
- Change the departure time, route, or date
- Amend the upgrade after it is confirmed
Important
- The upgrade must be used on the specific train, route, date, and departure time shown at purchase
- The traveller must have a valid rail ticket for that service
- You do not need to be the person travelling to buy or share an upgrade
- Upgrades are non-refundable once confirmed (unless the train is cancelled and you do not travel)
