Applies to: First Class upgrade auctions purchased through the Seatfrog app
Does not apply to: Superfare, Secret Fare, Rail Tickets or TrainSwap
You can upgrade your journey with Seatfrog regardless of where you bought your original train ticket.
It does not matter whether your ticket was booked with:
A train operator
Another ticket provider
Trainline or any other third-party retailer
As long as you have a valid train ticket, you can use Seatfrog to bid for an upgrade.
How to add your journey to Seatfrog
Add a trip booked through a third party by using the Train Search feature in the Seatfrog app.
Open the app and tap Upgrade Your Seat.
On the Add and auction screen, enter your departure station, destination, and date of travel and passengers
Select your train from the search results.
Add the trip to your account.
If an auction is available, you can place a bid for an upgrade.
You do not need to import or link your booking from Trainline or any other provider.
Important
Seatfrog upgrades:
Apply only to the specific train service you bid on.
Cannot be transferred to another train.
Do not replace your original ticket — you must already hold a valid ticket for that service.
If your train does not appear in search results, upgrades are not currently available for that service.
