Applies to: First Class upgrade auctions purchased through the Seatfrog app
Does not apply to: Superfare, Secret Fare, Rail Tickets or TrainSwap
Can I upgrade if I have booked a split ticket?
Yes — you can upgrade with Seatfrog if you have booked a split ticket, as long as your tickets cover the full journey you are travelling on.
A split ticket does not affect your ability to bid for an upgrade.
If you are travelling on one single train (no changes)
If your journey is on one continuous train, even if you hold multiple tickets for different parts of that journey, you only need to add the full journey to Seatfrog.
For example:
If you are travelling from Edinburgh to London Kings Cross on one train, but hold:
A ticket from Edinburgh to Newcastle, and
A ticket from Newcastle to London Kings Cross
You should add the full journey (Edinburgh to London Kings Cross) in the app and bid on that auction.
You do not need to add each leg separately.
If you need to change trains
If your journey involves changing trains, you must add each train separately in the app and bid in the separate auctions.
For example:
If you travel:
Edinburgh to Peterborough (first train), then
Peterborough to London Kings Cross (second train)
You would need to:
Add Edinburgh to Peterborough and bid on that auction, and
Add Peterborough to London Kings Cross and bid on that auction.
Important
You must have valid tickets covering the entire journey you are travelling.
Seatfrog upgrades apply to the specific train service you bid on.
