Do I need a bike reservation?
You can usually take a bike on a train for free, but some train operators require a bike space reservation for full-sized bicycles.
Seatfrog does not make bike reservations on your behalf.
You must contact the rail operator you are travelling with to check whether a bike reservation is needed and to make one if required.
When a bike reservation is required
Fold-up bikes do not require a reservation on most services.
Full-sized bikes may require a reservation, depending on the train operator and service.
Some operators restrict full-sized bikes during peak hours or on specific routes.
Rules vary by train company.
What to do
Before travelling:
Check the rail operator’s website for their bike reservation policy.
Contact the operator to reserve a bike space if required.
Arrive early on the day of travel to allow time for reservation checks.
Important
Bike reservation requirements are set by the train operator.
Seatfrog cannot add or modify bike reservations on your ticket.
A valid bike reservation may be required to travel with a full-sized bicycle.
For detailed, operator-specific information, visit the rail operator’s dedicated website.
