Routes
Seatfrog is available on most routes Monday to Sunday, excluding London Euston to Holyhead route. As Seatfrog is a last-minute upgrade service availability of upgrades on your service may be confirmed closer to the date of departure.
Services are selected based on availability i.e. are there empty First Class seats available throughout the duration of the entire service and operational factors.
Supported ticket types
We currently support Standard Class* ticket types on selected services with Avanti West Coast.
How do I buy an eligible ticket?
You need to buy a standard class ticket*. Seatfrog upgrades are only valid on the service shown in the specific auction. If you have a flexible ticket please note that the upgrade is only valid on the named service and can not be transfered or cancelled if you chose to travel at a different time.
What is included in my First Class upgrade?
First Class travel includes complimentary food and drink, roomier seats, WiFi with a guaranteed table and access to First Class lounges for pre-departure comfort.
Complimentary food and drink
Complimentary food and drink is served straight to your seat. Whether you’re vegan, veggie or a meat lover, you’ll find something that’s sure to hit the spot. Menus vary depending on the time of day and the duration of your journey. For more info on First Class catering please see the Avanti website, here.
Please note that as catering is complimentary it can be removed.
Lounges
Access the First Class lounge. Get away from the crowds and enjoy a free drink in Avanti West Coast's First Class lounge. First Class Lounge opening hours may vary especially on Bank Holidays. You can access First Class Lounges for a maximum of 2hrs before departure. For more info on the opening hours of First Class lounges please head over to the Avanti website, here.
Accessibility & passenger assistance
As Seatfrog provides last-minute upgrades, we can't always guarantee availability in accessible areas in First Class coaches. Travellers who have a disability, require a wheelchair space, or have restricted mobility should reach out to Avanti West Coast, passenger assist team, to check accessibility availability before entering a Seatfrog auction.
If you win an upgrade and need assistance, please talk to the Avanti staff on the platform when you arrive at the station. Inform the team that you have a Seatfrog upgrade, and show them your original ticket as well as your 'upgrade' ticket on the Seatfrog app. They will direct you accordingly and offer assistance during your journey.
*NB: Standard Premium tickets not supported to upgrade to First Class.
