Error when adding a payment card to your account
If your payment card is declined when adding it to your Seatfrog account, this may be due to our security checks.
Important information about payment cards
For the smoothest experience, use a payment card issued by a UK bank.
Cards issued by overseas banks may trigger additional security checks and be declined.
What is a risk score?
We use automated security checks to prevent fraudulent activity.
If multiple payment attempts fail, your account’s security risk score may increase.
When this happens:
New payment methods may be declined
Additional attempts will extend the restriction period
The risk score will reduce automatically after several days
There is no manual override.
If your card is declined
If you see a “refused (20)” error or repeated declines:
Stop attempting to add the card
Wait several days before trying again
Do not repeatedly retry, as this will extend the restriction
Alternative payment options
If you are unable to add a card, you can try:
Apple Pay
Google Pay
These may work even if adding a card directly fails.
Troubleshooting steps
Before contacting Support:
Ensure you are using the latest version of the Seatfrog app
Try adding your card via https://account.seatfrog.com
Refresh the app after successfully adding a card
