If your payment doesn’t go through after you win an auction, don’t worry — you’ll have up to 10 minutes to complete it before the auction expires.
When this happens, you’ll see a message in the app letting you know your payment was declined.
What to do next
Follow the prompts in the app:
Tap the notification or open the auction details
You’ll see one or more options, depending on why the payment failed. This may include:
Try payment again using the same card, or
Try a new payment method to add a different card
Complete the payment to secure your upgrade
Once the payment is successful, your upgrade will be confirmed.
⚠️ Important: don’t update your payment method via Account settings
Please do not update your card by going to Account → Payment details when completing a failed auction payment.
While this will update the default payment method on your Seatfrog account for future bids and purchases, it will not complete payment for the current auction.
To successfully secure your upgrade, you must:
follow the payment prompts shown on the auction details screen, and
complete payment within the auction flow itself
If the payment still doesn’t work
If you’re having trouble completing payment, check the following:
Is your card still valid?
If it’s expired or no longer usable, add a new card.Do you have sufficient funds available?
Make sure there’s enough balance to cover the upgrade, and check whether you need to increase your daily transaction limit with your bank.Check your connection
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) helps ensure the payment goes through smoothly.
Tip: Before you bid for your upgrade make sure your payment methods are up to date, and that you have enough funds to pay for your maximum bid - this means you don’t have to race against the clock if you win.
