Applies to: First Class upgrade auctions purchased through the Seatfrog app
Does not apply to: Superfare, Secret Fare, Rail Tickets or TrainSwap
Why is Buy Now available after the auction?
Seatfrog upgrades are based on last-minute availability.
If not all available upgrades are sold to the highest bidders when the auction ends, remaining seats may be offered for purchase at a fixed price.
This is shown in the app as a Buy Now or fixed-price upgrade option.
Why didn’t I win the auction?
You may miss out on an auction if:
Your bid was not high enough.
Other passengers placed higher bids.
Instant Upgrade price points were reached by other bidders.
Why is there still availability?
Auctions offer multiple upgrades on the same train.
If upgrades are not sold during the auction, they may be made available after the auction ends at a fixed price.
This does not mean the auction result was incorrect; it means unsold inventory is being offered separately.
Is the Buy Now price the same as my bid?
Not necessarily.
The fixed price shown after the auction is set separately and may be higher or lower than your previous bid.
Important
Missing out on the auction does not prevent you from purchasing a fixed-price upgrade if availability remains.
Availability is limited and not guaranteed.
Once sold out, upgrades will no longer be available.
