Why do I need to keep my original ticket?
A Train Swap ticket is not valid for travel on its own.
You must carry your original rail ticket when travelling.
How Train Swap works
When you use Train Swap:
Your original ticket remains your base travel ticket.
The Train Swap barcode confirms you have changed to a different service.
Both are required.
What happens if I only show the Train Swap ticket?
The Train Swap barcode will not open station barriers.
It does not replace your original ticket.
It cannot be used on its own for travel.
You must present both tickets when requested.

The Train Swap barcode validates your new train.
Without your original ticket, your Train Swap is not valid..
